I recently saw a quote, “Man’s best successes come AFTER their disappointments.”
It resonated with me because I suffered a loss that I never thought imaginable at the Great Lakes Cup.
Was I disappointed?
I was supposed to bring home the gold and it was supposed to be an easy tournament. I didn’t expect a loss where I couldn’t even score a point.
Is it tough for me to write about this?
Yes it is, but this is the only real way you can get to know me and be part of my journey, the good, the bad, and sometimes the ugly. The great news from this weekend is that I found gaps in my mental and physical game that I was not aware of before. Now it’s time over the next five weeks, leading up to Nationals in Chicago, to get it together and have everything flow properly.
I strive to learn from the masters, my experiences and coaches that can help me be the best that I can be. This weekend I learned from my experiences and also have gained a new coach in the Grosse Pointe area to train and develop with.
I feel it in my mind, body, and soul that I am going to change over these next few weeks and I’m going to leave my mark in Chicago. Be sure to follow me over this coming month as I prepare!
